Automatic ball-winding machine
The FC34-NX is a high-performance automatic ball-winding machine.
It is suitable to produce high-quality balls in wool, acrylic, mixed and fancy yarns, cotton and similar fibres with yarn count from Nm 0.5 to Nm 7.0, weights from 20 to 150 grams, and a maximum length of 23 cm.
The machine is equipped with the most advanced ball shape and pattern control ever built.
The FC34-NX automatic ball-winding machine can be directly linked to:
- BALL FREE EXIT UNIT (ideal for do-nut flat balls).
- BAN305 Automatic Ball-Banding Machines (ideal for the automatic banding of standard yarn balls).
- ROTOSTEAM Bulking and Steaming Machines.
TECHNICAL FEATURES:
Number of winding positions: 10, 12, 16 and 20.
Multi-language programmable 9.7″ TFT colour touchscreen operator panel where the following parameters can be set:
- Winding speed adjustable from 50 to over 1240 rpm.
- Beam movement (shape of the balls).
- Patterns and thread laying of the balls. The device is also able to change automatically ball patterns during the winding cycle to obtain more voluminous and softer balls.
- Pattern selection infinitely variable from 1:2,000 to 1:600,000.
- Diameter of the mandrels.
- Cutting positions.
- Automatic yarn ends release positions.
- Extraction bar position.
- Electronic yarn feeder speed.
The system automatically adjusts the feeder speed, varying yarn tension throughout the winding cycle, allowing the yarn tension to be modified to produce bulkier and softer balls or more compact ones.
All the parameters can be stored in 200 programs, so it is possible to recall them as needed.
The panel also displays useful messages for the operator, including:
- Alarm messages, chronology of the alarms.
- Status of Input and outputs of the PLC and the encoders.
- Functional messages.
- Real time working data.
Selectable languages: Italian, English, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Russian, French, German.
- USB port: to download the database of ball programs on a USB key (pendrive), to have a copy and / or to be able to transfer the database to another ball-winding machine.

- Automation control via PLC with integrated motion control.

- High performance winding system with speed up to 1240 rpm and dynamic balancing of the winding flyers, which reduces to the minimum any vibration of the machine.
- Electronic yarn feeder to control the tension of the yarn entering in the winding unit.
- Automatic doffing with automatic tucking-in thread into the balls.
- Automatic ejection of underweight or incomplete balls.

- Pneumatic yarn threading device into the winding flyers (one valve per flyer).

- Yarn break detectors (BTSR ISF-3) with Self-Adapting System.
- Electronic mandrel surveillance with laser photocells for incompletely doffed balls and yarn tails.
Safety devices compliant with EU and US safety regulations:
- Photoelectric safety barriers (front and rear operator detection), SIL3 Type 4, interfaced with safety relays.
- NUC internal minicomputer for remote connection with integrated video camera for easy and quick after-sales service.
